These terms apply when you buy a cake from Long Distance Cakes at longdistancecakes.com. The site is run by [YOUR NAME OR BUSINESS NAME], [ABN, if you have one]. By sending a cake, you agree to these terms.

What you’re buying

Each cake is a digital gift: a personalised, animated 3D birthday cake with your message, at its own private web link. The birthday person can blow out the candles using their device’s microphone, or by pressing and holding a button. Nothing physical is delivered.

Cakes work in up-to-date web browsers on most phones and computers. The microphone feature needs the person’s permission and a working microphone. If either isn’t available, the press-and-hold option still works.

Price and payment

Each cake costs A$6.99, charged once at checkout. Prices are in Australian dollars and [include GST / GST does not apply]. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see your card details.

Delivery

By email: we email the cake to the address you give as soon as your payment is confirmed, usually within a minute.
By link: you get the cake’s link and a QR code straight after payment, to share however you like.

We also email you a receipt with the link. Please check the birthday person’s email address carefully. If you entered it wrongly, contact us and we’ll help you resend the cake.

We aim to keep each cake available at its link for [at least 12 months] from purchase.

Refunds and your rights

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.

If your cake wasn’t delivered or doesn’t work, contact us and we’ll fix it or refund you. Because each cake is personalised and delivered straight away, we don’t offer refunds just for a change of mind.

Your message

You’re responsible for what you write. Please don’t send anything abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or unlawful, and don’t send a cake to someone who wouldn’t want to hear from you. We may remove a cake that breaks these rules. If we do, we may not offer a refund.

Keep the link private

Anyone with a cake’s link can open it and read the message. Share it only with the person it’s for.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep the site running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our liability for a cake is limited to resupplying it or refunding what you paid for it. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you buy a cake is the one that applies to that purchase.
